Strășeni Municipality Joins Reallocate as a Cascade City

Strășeni Municipality, home to approximately 20,000 residents and located just 23 km from Moldova’s capital, Chișinău, has joined the REALLOCATE project as a Cascade City to help address its pressing mobility challenges.

Currently, public transport in Strășeni relies solely on the operations of a private company, with services often criticised for poor quality, delays, and lack of accessibility for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Additionally, the municipality faces insufficient infrastructure, including a lack of organised parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

Through REALLOCATE, Strășeni aims to create a modern municipal public transport system, promote alternative mobility options such as bike lanes and safe pedestrian pathways, and reduce emissions with eco-friendly transport solutions. Plans also include developing a paid parking system with electric charging stations and improving road safety for all users.

By embracing the REALLOCATE project, Strășeni Municipality is taking a crucial step towards creating a safer, greener and more inclusive transport system. We are excited to welcome Strășeni and look forward to supporting its journey toward sustainable urban mobility. This partnership presents an incredible opportunity to implement meaningful changes that enhance mobility, improve accessibility, reduce emissions, and promote green transport solutions, benefiting not only Strășeni’s residents but also position the municipality as a regional leader in such transformation. It will be inspiring to see how these changes shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for Strășeni and set an example for other communities.
