Challenges
- Limited Public Transport Options – The city relies on a single private operator for public transportation, leading to inefficiencies and limited accessibility for residents.
- Lack of Dedicated Infrastructure for Alternative Mobility – There are few dedicated bike lanes, pedestrian-friendly pathways, or multimodal transport connections, making it difficult to promote sustainable mobility options.
- Traffic Congestion and Parking Issues – The increasing number of private vehicles has led to congestion, especially in central areas, and a shortage of properly managed parking spaces.
- Outdated Road Infrastructure – Some roads require modernisation to improve traffic flow and safety, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists.
- Low Adoption of Smart and Sustainable Mobility Solutions – The city is still in the early stages of integrating smart mobility solutions, such as digitalised public transport systems or electric vehicle infrastructure.
