walk audit

A participatory tool for awareness of the diverse realities of citizens and walkability in public space

A participatory tool that allows communities or institutions to talk and listen to each other, address their concerns and understand what problems people are experiencing and how they have an impact on people’s everyday lives. We provide a version for adults and a separate version for children, while we continue to explore specific versions for gender specific groups, minorities, disabled road users and other perspectives.

Map-based survey

Application that allows people to place their survey answers on a map, helping planners understand what matters and where.

The platform makes it easy for city residents to share their ideas through participatory mapping. Users can leave proposals or comments directly on a map, helping cities gather input and shape plans tailored to their needs. Whether it’s suggesting a new greenery patch or commenting on parking, this platform offers a fun, interactive way to help shape the city.

crowdsourcing map

This survey empowers pedestrians to rate how safe and lively streets feel, helping cities identify areas for improvement without collecting personal data.

This innovative platform empowers cities to collaborate with the public by collecting real-time insights from pedestrians. It identifies streets perceived as safe and explores how vibrant, active environments influence the sense of security—both from traffic risks and crime. With no personal information required, this user-friendly tool captures people’s experiences by asking them to rate street segments based on safety and liveliness.

(GEO)survey

This survey captures people’s perceptions of street safety and their lived experiences to inform more inclusive, accessible, and vibrant urban design.

This survey questionnaire is designed to collect valuable data on perceived traffic and social safety, purpose and frequency of visits, travel modes, and activities that contribute to liveliness and vitality. By gathering pilot-specific insights, cities can better understand local challenges and develop targeted solutions to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall street experience.

workshop for pedestrians & cyclists coexistence

This pedagogical tool brings local stakeholders together in a collaborative and constructive setting to co-create practical solutions for improving coexistence among active modes of mobility.

This tool involves the adaptation and English translation of an “immersive” format originally co-developed by Cerema and applied in several French cities. It includes personae, maps, forms, and facilitation guidelines, now made available for REALLOCATE cities. The workshop setting encourages a participatory and pacified dialogue among local stakeholders, helping them collectively develop realistic solutions that support the safe and harmonious coexistence of pedestrians, cyclists, scooter users, skaters, and other active mobility modes.

Cities that will use this tool:

Barcelona and other cities if interested.
